Ferrari to Limit Barrichello's Tests

The Brazilian, who is switching to BAR next season, will join test driver Luca Badoer and Marc Gene for the first day of the four-day test tomorrow - but will only be working on 2005 parts.

Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn said: "There's some testing Rubens won't do. With new things (for 2006) and the V8 it would not be sensible for him to do that. But he's going to the Monza test to do set-up work for the Italian race.

"I think there will be one or two tests he will do before the end of the season, which will relate to the races before the end of the year. It will all be very specific 2005 work."

Barrichello's replacement Felipe Massa joins Ferrari on Wednesday and Thursday in a bid to get an early start on development work with Ferrari.

"It is a useful early start to rebuild the partnership," added Brawn. "Felipe has always remained a Ferrari contracted driver. He was available for us to test whenever we chose to, so it's just a good start to be able to begin the partnership again."
