Mugello 4: Barrichello on top
Ferrari's Rubens Barrichello ended the four-day Mugello test fastest with a 1m20.299s lap time. The session was hit by rain for most of the day which left just an hour and half of dry running available to the teams
Barrichello spent most of the day working on wet set-ups but bolted on some slicks late-on to set his fastest time. Anthony Davidson (BAR-Honda) and Olivier Panis (Toyota) followed a similar path.
Ricardo Zonta, working on Toyota's traction control system, was fourth fastest ahead of Jenson Button who ended his programme before a dry line emerged.
Despite losing a day planned for aero testing because of the rain the Englishman remains upbeat for the Spanish Grand Prix: "There is no reason why we shouldn't be quick in Barcelona. We've been pretty fast in all the tests there this year.
"Imola was a good weekend for us," Button said, "just like Bahrain should have been if I had qualified better. Compared to everyone else we look pretty strong. But looking at Ferrari, we have got to keep moving forwards.
"But so far we have had new parts on the car for every test and every race. It's really important to keep up with the pace."
