Jordan's new tech boss sets to work
Star designer Eghbal Hamidy has started work as technical director at Jordan
The Iranian, who was tempted from Arrows after months of secret negotiations with rival team boss Tom Walkinshaw, set to work the Monday before the Australian Grand Prix.
He only had a couple of days at the team's base at Silverstone before flying to Australia for the opening race of the season.
"There are some exciting times ahead of us," he said. "The team and Honda have done a very good job and I'm looking forward to contributing to that effort and guiding the evolution of the new car package to achieve the goal that the team have set themselves."
Honda have said they expect either Jordan or BAR who are both powered by the Japanese company's V10, to win races and finish third in the constructors' championship.
Eghbal worked at Stewart and then Arrows as chief designer for nearly two years before taking control of the technical department of the Silverstone-based Jordan outfit.
