Sebastian Vettel: It's 'game on' for Ferrari in 2015 F1 title race
Sebastian Vettel believes it is 'game on' for Ferrari in the Formula 1 title race, and he has no doubt his team will "try absolutely everything" to catch Lewis Hamilton
Vettel's second grand prix win of the year in Hungary last Sunday, which was the 41st of his F1 career to match the haul of the late Ayrton Senna, has thrust the four times champion back into striking distance of the Mercedes drivers in the points standings.
Heading into the summer break Vettel trails championship leader Hamilton by 42 points - equivalent to just under a win and a second place - and he is just 21 behind the Briton's team-mate Nico Rosberg.
Suggested to Vettel it will be 'game on' once the season resumes in Belgium in a few weeks' time, he replied: "It has always been.
"We know we have to remain realistic, that there is still a lot of work to do and a lot of catching up to do.
"You never know. I'm sure we will try absolutely everything, and try to make the impossible possible.
"The best way of doing that is to remain calm, to try to do your best, and then we will see where the journey takes us.
"I'm sure it's well appreciated by all the team to have a bit of a break now, and to recap on a very strong start."
As far as Vettel is concerned, the first 10 races of his Ferrari career - that have included two wins and five other podium finishes - have made the first half of the season "phenomenal".
It is all in stark contrast to last season when Kimi Raikkonen and former Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso managed just two podiums between them, both achieved by the Spaniard who is now with McLaren.
"If you look at where we were last year, in terms of performance of the car and team morale, everything is a lot better than it was," added Vettel.
"Inside the team we are happy with what has been achieved in all areas and if you look at the car - and I did not drive it last year - but Kimi is a lot happier.
"Of all the teams I think Ferrari has made the biggest step.
"Sometimes you find yourself in a race where things aren't coming together, but if you look at the last five or six races, it's looked pretty good."
