Zonta pleased to outqualify Villeneuve

Ricardo Zonta put in the best qualifying performance of his Formula One career, but admitted he may be asked to move over for team-mate Jacques Villeneuve in the Austrian Grand Prix

The Brazilian qualified sixth, one place ahead of the 1997 champion, seventh to record BAR's best team qualifying performance this season. However, while he is looking for results to put himself back in the shop window after a disappointing season, he accepted he may have to give way to the Canadian.

"It could happen," said the former F3000 champion. "Jacques is doing well in the championship right now, but nothing has been discussed with me yet. I got a good time because I was able to have a lot of clear track time and get the set-up right."

"I'm pleased to have outqualified Jacques but tomorrow is another day and I need to focus on my car and do my job," he added "We have the potential to be in the points tomorrow."

"I've just got to make a good start and then we will see what happens."
