Schumacher continues Coulthard sniping
Michael Schumacher says he wants more proof before accepting that David
Coulthard has overtaken teammate Mika Hakkinen is the major driving force at McLaren.
"Mika is a double world champion and has always been faster than David in the past," said Schumacher. "It's natural to think that Mika is the stronger one," he added.
The championship leader was speaking ahead of Saturday qualifying for the eighth round of the world championship at an overcast Montreal.
The Scot leapfrogged Hakkinen with victory in Monaco two week ago and now trails Schumacher by 12 points.
He has finished the last five races on the podium and won two of them. In Friday practice Coulthard headed the times with Schumacher second and Hakkinen fifth.
"But maybe that has changed. Maybe David has become stronger or equal to Mika.
"I want to see consistent proof before I know that. You can't say just because he won Monaco that he is now on top of Mika.
"He's beaten Mika in the past and then he has fallen back again. Let's wait and see how goes."
