Scheider: Time to think about title
Reigning DTM champion Timo Scheider has admitted that he will take a more measured approach in the final three races of the season as he bids to retain his title
The Audi driver leads the standings by five points from his team-mate Mattias Ekstrom, while lead Mercedes driver Gary Paffett is nine points adrift after last weekend's race at Brands Hatch.
"With three races to go you have to start thinking about the championship," said Scheider. "We have a gap in the championship now, which was the main aim for this race.
"We have to be clever in the races - that's going to be one of the key points for us. We did a clever race on Sunday, it was a good performance."
Former champion Paffett believes it will be tough to catch Scheider now, as the German appears to have the upper hand over Ekstrom as well at the moment.
"We really need to take some points out of Timo," said the Briton. "He's the best of the Audi drivers at the moment, Mattias isn't as quick as him right now.
"We need a result like Audi had at Brands - one of their other cars to win the race so they take some ballast, and their top guys further down the order."
