Turkington upbeat on title chances
Colin Turkington believes that he is in the best possible position to win the British Touring Car Championship driving a BMW 320si
Team RAC announced their decision to switch to the world championship-winning car on the central stage at the Autosport International show.
The team have raced MG's in recent years, but they have had to change cars due to the switch to Super 2000 regulations in the BTCC for 2007.
"We are in a fantastic position to do well this year. This car has won the WTCC, it is a proven car," Turkington said.
"The MG we used last year was five years old and we fought for the title, now I am in the best car and the best position to win the championship."
The team will also receive support from BMW, particularly at the start of the year.
Turkington added: "BMW are going to be an integral part of this. We will have their engineers at our tests and then the first three races, which will be vital for our championship campaign."
