Muller not focusing on title battle

Jorg Muller believes that it is too early in the season for him to be worrying about his position in the WTCC standings

The German is currently six points behind his teammate Augusto Farfus, who leads the championship after the first two rounds of the year.

However, Muller has admitted that he is not going to pay much attention to his championship position at this stage of the season.

"At the moment it makes no sense to think about the overall ranking," said Muller. "That's not important for me. We have only had four races this season and there are 22 races in total, so it's much to early to make any predictions."

The BMW driver added that he is not expecting to be able to fight for victories this weekend at Valencia, as he will be carrying 45 kilograms of success ballast.

"My goal is to get as many points as possible," he said. "I have additional weight in the car, so I think it's very hard to win races.

"It would be very good to reach the podium, but the most important thing is to get points. I don't want to go away with zero points."
