Giovanardi to race in Macau
Fabrizio Giovanardi will make a return to the World Touring Car Championship at Macau driving for the JAS Honda team
The season finale will be the Italian's second outing with JAS in the WTCC this year after he competed in the Brazilian round at Curitiba.
"This time we have a big opportunity to show our real potential," said Giovanardi. "At Curitiba I set the fastest lap in practice, but then something went wrong with the car and I could not achieve the same performance in qualifying and the races."
JAS team principal Alessandro Mariani said: "We have worked hard in order to offer another opportunity to Fabrizio, after the unlucky race of Curitiba. Hopefully this will help us to achieve important results in such an important event."
Giovanardi raced for Vauxhall in the British Touring Car Championship this year, scoring two victories on his way to fifth in the standings. His first success at Knockhill was the manufacturer's 100th victory in the BTCC.
The Italian won the FIA European Touring Car Championship in 2001 and 2002 with Alfa Romeo, and competed in the WTCC last year with the Italian manufacturer.
