Farfus remains on top in practice
Schnitzer BMW driver Augusto Farfus retained his place at the top of the timesheets at the end of this morning's second practice session at Oschersleben
In a session again peppered with cars skating off the circuit, the Brazilian clocked a fastest lap of 1:35.771, putting him almost 0.3 seconds clear of closest rival Rob Huff's Chevrolet Lacetti.
A pair of SEATs were close behind, with Tom Coronel's petrol-powered Leon edging out the TDI of Rickard Rydell.
Croatian driver Marin Colak was the quickest of the Independents, going fifth-fastest in his SUNRED-prepeared SEAT.
It was a low-key start for the main title contenders, all of whom are feeling the effects of carrying high levels of ballast around the technical German circuit.
Current points leader Yvan Muller finished 13th fastest, Andy Priaulx 15th and Gabriele Tarquini was 20th.
