Dahlgren wants more WTCC outings

Robert Dahlgren has said that he is hoping to be back in the World Touring Car Championship soon, after he made his debut in the series last weekend

The Swede finished eighth in race two in his bio-ethanol Volvo S60, although he was not eligible for points as his car was running to national homologation rather than the full WTCC regulations.

"I'm really pleased for the team and for Volvo that we have shown we can score a virtual WTCC point driving on ethanol," said the 27-year-old.

"The goal in my career is to be in the WTCC so I really hope to be back soon."

Dahlgren believes that he could have had better results last weekend at Anderstorp, but he was disappointed with his qualifying performance after he had been third fastest in Friday practice.

"I can only dream of where I could have finished if I'd had a good qualifying," he said. "It was our target to be in the top eight but unfortunately bad qualifying made that a lot harder to achieve."

Dahlgren is current racing his Volvo full time in the Swedish Touring Car Championship.
