Terting to make one-off return
Peter Terting will drive a works SEAT Leon in his home round of the World Touring Car Championship at Oschersleben
The 23-year-old raced for SEAT's works team in 2005 and 2006, and he took his only WTCC victory in Mexico in 2005.
The German left the team after he finished ninth in the standings last year, but he will make a one-off return to their line-up for the next round of the series.
"I am very happy about returning to SEAT and racing a Leon again," said Terting, who has been racing sportscars this year. "I really must thank everyone at SEAT for making this happen."
Terting will not get a chance to test the car before the race weekend, but he believes that his familiarity with the team and the car should prevent that from being a problem.
"I won't have the opportunity to test the car before the race weekend, and with only two thirty minute free practice sessions before qualifying it won't be easy," he added.
"But I know the team, I know the car, I know the WTCC, and I know the Oschersleben circuit, so I have a very good feeling."
The former DTM racer added that he is confident of performing well on his return to the series, due to Rickard Rydell's recent performance on his return at Anderstorp.
"Rickard proved in Anderstorp that you can return to the WTCC and do very well, so it might be possible for me to finish in the top three," he said.
"For the moment I am just looking forward to putting on my SEAT Sport overalls and getting back in the Leon again."
