Wilson and Stobart target Subaru

Matt Wilson believes the Stobart Ford Rally Team can challenge Subaru again in 2008

The secondary Ford squad nearly pipped the former world champions to third in the manufacturers' standings last year, and Wilson believes that with a newer car for this year the team can be even stronger.

"For this year we've got the 2007 car that Marcus (Gronholm) and Mikko (Hirvonen) had at the end of this year, so that's going to be an improvement for us," Wilson said on the main stage at the Autosport International show.

"With the new car and the team we've got, it will be good to challenge Subaru again. If we could do that it would be a dream."

Wilson also welcomed the addition of Gigi Galli to the team, and the British driver believes that his own experiences from last year will make him stronger in 2008.

"Last year we improved because I was going to these rallies for a second time, and I'm happy with what I achieved," he added.

"Hopefully this year, going to all these events for a third time, things will be even better again."
