Jordan and Argentina to swap dates
Rally Jordan will switch dates with Rally Argentina due to fears that bad weather could have hit the event if it was run in March
The new WRC event was scheduled to run on the last weekend in March, but it will be pushed back a month, while Rally Argentina will take the March date instead.
Jordan's chairman of motorsport Prince Feisal Al Hussein said: "There was a concern that the March date could be susceptible to inclement weather and flash floods in the Dead sea area where we hold the majority of our stages."
The organisers are keen for their maiden WRC event to go well, so they are pleased that a change was possible.
"The WRC plans are coming together nicely and the news that our dates could be put back is an added boost to all of us," Prince Hussein added.
"We did hold a test event in March and the weather was fine but we don't want to take any chances in our first year when we must make the biggest impression possible on the rallying world."
