Senna's new Aston GT challenge
Bruno Senna is looking to win races after his move to GT racing. And Aston Martin's new recruit has a few things to say about his missed opportunities in Formula 1. By Gary Watkins
This was a deal that surprised everyone. Bruno Senna was still being tipped for a Force India Formula 1 seat at the very moment that he was putting pen to paper on his contract for 2013.
The Silverstone-based F1 team and his new employer are only 15 or so miles distant geographically, but in the landscape of world motor racing they are worlds apart. The Brazilian will be competing in the World Endurance Championship for Aston Martin Racing this year.

Gary Watkins has, for reasons best known to himself, devoted all his working life to covering sportscar racing. This season is his 33rd as a motorsport journalist, during which time he has reported on major long-distance events on four continents and approaching 80 24-hour races. He reckons a degree in political philosophy makes him well qualified for covering the sometimes Machiavellian world of international sportscars.
Gary, who also writes for Motor Sport, Autocourse, RACER and others, lives in Surbiton close to the former workshops of the Cooper Formula 1 team but spends more time on the road than at home for most of the year.
