Lucas Luhr to contest 2013 Le Mans 24 Hours with Jota
Former GT1 world champion Lucas Luhr has joined Jota Sport for the Le Mans 24 Hours
The 33-year-old German will partner Oliver Turvey and Simon Dolan in the team's LMP2 Zytek-Nissan.
The Jota deal is the third that Luhr has signed in 2013. Earlier this week JRM Racing confirmed that he would partner Peter Dumbreck in its Blancpain Endurance Series Nissan GT-R.
Luhr also announced that he would defend the American Le Mans Series LMP1 title he won last year in Pickett Racing's HPD earlier in the year.
Luhr said: "I am very pleased to be joining Jota Sport for this year's Le Mans 24 Hours.
"They have a proven record in LMP2 and are a very professional team, so I am really looking forward to working alongside Simon and Oliver.
"I have already won the GT class at Le Mans and would definitely like to add an LMP2 victory as well. The category is extremely competitive so it won't be easy, but we will give it our all."
Jota team boss Sam Hignett added: "Lucas completes what is undoubtedly our strongest Le Mans line-up to date.
"Lucas' GT class wins at La Sarthe, coupled with his vast experience of prototype competition, made him the ideal man for the job. We are thrilled to have him on-board.
"The partnership he will form with Oliver and Simon should be formidable and, although the LMP2 field will be extremely competitive, we are definitely targeting victory."
