KR introduce new chassis

Team KR are running a new chassis at this weekend's United States MotoGP at Laguna Seca

The new chassis was designed and developed in six weeks, as explained by three-time World Champion and team owner Kenny Roberts.

He said: "We've manufactured 55 new parts for this bike after drawing up 206 parts over a six-week period, in order to get the bike to steer better. This one should do that."

The American team run a single entry, with Roberts's son Kurtis standing in for brother Kenny Jr. for the seventh race in succession.

This is set to continue, as the older sibling doesn't feel the customer Honda engine is performing well enough.

"Kenny Jr doesn't want to ride as the motor doesn't accelerate," said Roberts Sr. "He has no reason to ride no matter what chassis we have. It's just his advantage to have a bike that accelerates and until that happens...

"We need something to bring him out and this motor is not the thing to do that."
