Ducati thank Stoner for dominant ride

Ducati team boss Livio Suppo believes Casey Stoner should take most of the credit for the squad's dominant victory in the Czech Grand Prix

Stoner now leads the championship by 60 points after controlling the Brno event from the start of practice and leading the race from start to finish.

"You never get used to races like that," Suppo told reporters after the race. "Casey is doing an unbelievable job. Like at Laguna Seca, he dominated the whole weekend.

"We just have to thank him. The bike is very good, the tyres are very good, but he is from another planet."

The Australian rider eventually won by eight seconds after early rival John Hopkins fell back in the closing stages.

Stoner said he had to work hard to escape from the Suzuki rider, who had been the only man to get near his times in practice.

"At the start John was putting a lot of pressure on me," Stoner said. "I'd pull away a little bit, he'd catch me back up, I'd pull a little bit back... I had to focus completely for most of the race.

"Towards the end of the race I was continuing my rhythm and John dropped off the back so I could relax a little bit, but at the same time I made a couple of very small mistakes and it snapped me back into gear and I kept focusing until the end.

"Everything worked very well today - the tyres, the bike was perfect again."

The Brno win was Stoner's seventh victory in 12 races this season.
