Edwards says he has nothing to lose
Colin Edwards has pledged to take an 'all or nothing' approach to tomorrow's French Grand Prix after securing his first ever MotoGP pole position in qualifying at Le Mans
The Yamaha rider snatched pole away from championship leader Casey Stoner by 0.090 seconds at the very end of the session, and he expects the race to be just as closely fought.
"With this track being short and the Bridgestones and the Michelin at the moment looking pretty matched, I'd say it's going to be a battle royal," Edwards told BBC television.
"I haven't got anything to lose. I'm going out there to win it or bin it."
Edwards has had a frustrating 2007 season so far - qualifying in the top four for every race but only managing one podium finish, having struggled with tyre problems in several GPs.
He also had a difficult build-up to qualifying in France, crashing in final practice and making errors on his initial run.
"On the first qualifier I really screwed it up, so I thought 'I'm just going to push, and if we crash, we crash,'" he said.
"We already had one crash this morning, so... I just let it all hang out and it worked."
