Moto2: Takahashi to take part in practice
Injured former Japanese 250cc champion Yuki Takahashi will return to action in the first practice session at Mugello this weekend before deciding if he is fit enough to contest the rest of the Italian 250cc Grand Prix
Takahashi missed Le Mans after a crash in Shanghai bent a metal plate that had been inserted in his arm following an accident in 2006.
He was also still recovering from leg injuries sustained last autumn when the Chinese GP crash occurred.
But Takahashi is confident the same doctors who returned Roberto Locatelli to the track less than two months after his horrific Jerez crash will help him regain fitness in time for this weekend's race.
"I was back in Italy last Thursday and I began immediately the rehabilitation," Takahashi said.
"The operation went well even if the wrist still hurts me.
"On Friday I'll try to run and then with the team and the Clinica Mobile doctors we'll decide if my condition allows me to race all the weekend.
"I look forward to running and going fast to forget these injuries that are slowing down me a lot. I hope that the luck is now coming back."
