Maserati Sweeps Brno Grid's Top 3
Maserati grabbed the top three grid positions for tomorrow's FIA GT race in Brno, with Phillip Peter putting the #16 on pole position - his second of the season
Austrian Peter set a time of 1:56.322 around the Czech track, but he was less than four tenths of a second ahead of the second JMB Racing Maserati MC 12, driven in the second qualifying session by Andrea Bertolini.
The #15 car had to undergo extensive repairs overnight, after Bertolini's co-driver Karl Wendlinger crashed heavily in yesterday's practice.
"For me it is almost like a home race as I am from Vienna," Peter commented after the session. "I am very happy, for my team, Red Bull and Pirelli. Having two cars on the front row is great. We all worked hard in finding the right set up. The car is perfect.
"If it rains tomorrow, as the forecasts predict, I don't think there should be a problem for me with the right set up and tyres."
