The Weekly Grapevine

Your weekly dose of rumours, speculations and analysis

This was a momentous year for Formula One, what with the world championship being decided in the final sector of the final lap of the season's final race, and the genuine peace which broke out between the sport's two grandee teams Ferrari and McLaren.

There were, of course, less savoury aspects to the year, too, with the less said about Chelsea apartments and the FIA's extraordinary assembly meeting in June the better for all and sundry. Previous article Grand Prix Gold: Spain 1986
Next article Farewell to a weekly tradition
