Teams won't use biofuel at test
Plans for all A1GP cars to run on biofuel at next week's Silverstone test have been scrapped after an incompatibility between the fuel and the current engines was found
Series officials announced at the first pre-season test last month that the cars would run with a 30 per cent mix of biofuel this season, and the second test was meant to be the first opportunity for all of the teams to use the fuel.
A test car, driven by Danny Watts and Jonny Kane, used the fuel at the first test, and that car will continue to run with the fuel at next week's test.
"In our ongoing biofuel tests we have identified an incompatibility between the engine and our E30 ethanol mix fuel," a statement said.
"We believe however that we have already resolved this problem. However, to ensure there is no ongoing quality issue for all our engines, we will instead continue to run the test car only."
Despite the setback, the cars are still expected to use the biofuel when the third season begins at Zandvoort on September 30.
