Magazine: Imola F1, Mercedes' seventh title and Walter Hayes Trophy

Mercedes' record-breaking seventh consecutive Formula 1 constructors' title, taken in the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, is the focus of this week's Autosport magazine, out today (5 November)

Valtteri Bottas seemed to have gained the advantage with pole position and an early lead at Imola but, as Alex Kalinauckas shows in our report, two key factors swung the race in Lewis Hamilton's favour.

As well as Mercedes surpassing Ferrari's previous record of six straight titles, scored between 1999 and 2004, Hamilton's victory was also his 72nd for the Mercedes team. That matches the benchmark for most wins taken by a driver with one team - Michael Schumacher at Ferrari.

Although Hamilton and Mercedes are now into unprecedented territory in terms of F1 domination, there are still question marks over the future. We assess the challenges Mercedes could face if Toto Wolff and Hamilton decide to move on.

The 2020 F1 calendar was changed dramatically due to the coronavirus pandemic, but plans for 2021 are already coming together. We take a look at the controversial 23-race schedule, which includes a trip to Saudi Arabia, in Pit and Paddock.

There is also the usual reporting from the other major motorsport events, including Kevin Harvick dramatically crashing out of NASCAR Cup title contention and new 2020 winners in the World Touring Car Cup.

With the UK government announcing a second lockdown, last weekend could have been the last hurrah for British club racing in 2020. The Walter Hayes Trophy Formula Ford extravaganza is a season highlight and we were on hand to report on all the action - and, sadly, the serious accident that hospitalised three racers.

Other national meetings covered include Brands Hatch, Snetterton, Croft, Knockhill and Mallory Park, where a famous one-off machine returned to winning ways. We also look ahead to this weekend's British GT finale, which will include 2009 F1 world champion Jenson Button.
