Jarvis wins feature race for GBR

Oliver Jarvis produced a faultless drive to win the A1GP feature race at Zandvoort in style on Sunday

Jarvis passed pole sitter Adrian Zaugg during the first of the two mandatory pitstops and simply drove away from the pack thereafter, while Zaugg backed up his sprint win with a solid second.

Neel Jani caught the South Africa car ahead of the second stop, but eventually dropped back to a comfortable third.

Salvador Duran (Mexico) recorded the fastest lap of the race on his way to fourth, while Loic Duval had a great dice with Germany, Ireland and the Netherlands as he fought his way into fifth.

Sixth went to Ralph Firman, who was in fine form on his final set of tyres, passing New Zealand and the Netherlands with great moves.

Jonny Reid faded towards the end of the race and seventh place was less than expected of Team New Zealand ahead of the weekend. The same could be said of Team Netherlands and reigning champs Team Germany.

Jeroen Bleekemolen and Christian Vietoris had disappointing runs to eighth and ninth place respectively, but they carried their fight into the final lap in an entertaining battle.

The final point went to Erik Janis after a good drive for Team Czech Republic. He had James Hinchcliffe in his mirrors for much of the race until the Canadian was forced to retire with just a few laps remaining.
