Jarvis to race at Zandvoort for GBR
Oliver Jarvis will be the race driver for Team Great Britain at the first race of the 2007/8 A1GP season at Zandvoort
The Formula Three racer scored the team's maiden victory on his last competitive outing in Mexico, and he was one of the pace setters during the first day of pre-season testing at Silverstone on Tuesday.
"I'm delighted to have been chosen to drive in the opening round of the season at Zandvoort in September," said Jarvis. "I'd like to thank the team for giving me the opportunity and look forward to repaying their faith.
"Having been at the race last season in the rookie driver role and seeing the fantastic atmosphere there I can't wait to go back as the race driver and get the season off to a good start for A1 Team GBR."
Jarvis will hand the race duties over to Robbie Kerr for the second round of the series at Brno, and the 2002 British F3 champion is keen to add to the victory he scored for the team at Brands Hatch last season.
"We were strong last season, particularly towards the end, and I think we can look forward to a tremendous year ahead," said Kerr.
"I'm sure we will be amongst the teams to beat and we'll be aiming to score some serious points at the first two races."
Team Great Britain have finished third in both of the previous A1GP seasons.
