Germany win feature, China star

Nico Hulkenberg swept the floor with his A1GP opposition to take another win at Eastern Creek and extend Team Germany's championship lead

Hulkenberg was beaten away from the grid by Jonny Reid's New Zealand car, but he fought back at the restart following the ubiquitous safety car period to claim his sixth win of the season.

Brilliant as Hulkenberg's performance was, the star of the race was Ho-Pin Tung, who scored Team China's first ever podium with an excellent third.

The Astromega-run team actually led during the early stages of the race after opting to take a late mandatory pitstop. The tactic worked a treat and Tung rejoined in sixth, but on newer rubber he exploited his advantage to the full to pass Tomas Enge (Czech) and the fast-starting Dutch car of Jeroen Bleekemolen.

Alex Yoong drove a steady race to take sixth while Sebastien Buemi survived a clash with the Team Ireland car of Richard Lyons to claim seventh. Team USA and Team France battled throughout, with Giebler taking eighth in the end.

Robbie Kerr drove a charging race to make his way into the points from last on the grid, but the Brit slowed towards the end of the race and lost places to Giebler and Duval. Nevertheless he kept the Team Brazil car of Tuka Rocha at bay to claim the final point.

The safety car came out on lap 1 after Christian Murchison tagged the rear of James Hinchcliffe's Team Canada car, sending him into a series of barrel rolls. Despite heavy cosmetic damage to the Lola-Zytek, Hinchcliffe was able to walk away unhurt.
