Germany win Eastern Creek sprint

Nico Hulkenberg dominated the A1GP sprint race in Eastern Creek to wrap up Team Germany's fifth win of the season

Hulkenberg quickly built up a four-second lead before his advantage was levelled out by a safety car period mid-way through after Team Lebanon's Alex Khateeb shunted. But Hulkenberg made the perfect restart and pulled away to a comfortable win.

At the first start Robbie Kerr got away well and put Team New Zealand's Jonny Reid under pressure. The next time around the Brit pulled a great move around the outside of turns two and three.

But it wasn't to be Kerr's day and a left front puncture allowed Reid back through at the restart and eventually forced the Brit out.

This handed third place to Team France's Loic Duval, while Sebastien Buemi claimed fourth for Team Switzerland. Jeroen Bleekemolen made a strong start to grab sixth at the start, which became fifth when Kerr retired.

But he and sixth-place finisher Ho-Pin Tung are under investigation for their moves at the start, so their points places remain provisional.
