Piquet Sets Track Record - Day Two

Nelson Piquet Jr set the GP2 track record at the Paul Ricard circuit on the final day of the current winter test at the French circuit, setting a time of 1:15.565 in the afternoon session

Piquet Sets Track Record - Day Two

Piquet's time was half a second ahead of fellow series returnee Gianmaria Bruni. Fastest of the new drivers was Franck Perera, who was driving Nico Rosberg's championship-winning car at ART.

Adrian Valles was the fastest man on track in the morning session, but was unable to set a lap in the afternoon. Piquet was either first or second in both morning and afternoon sessions in the test.

Sixteen new drivers made their debuts in a GP2 car over the two days; a few spins occurred but there were no major incidents recorded. The second winter test will take place next month in Jerez.
