Carroll to test for iSport, Piquet

Adam Carroll will test with iSport and Minardi Piquet Sports at Jerez next week as he considers his options for 2008

The Ulsterman, who has taken two wins with FMS International since returning to GP2 in June, is considering spending a fourth year in GP2, and he will test for the two teams at Jerez next week, after the series heads to Valencia for this weekend's season finale.

"I don't think there's anything wrong with doing a fourth year," Carroll recently told autosport.com. "If you can put the right deal together and you are competitive, then outside of F1 there is no better place to be than GP2."

Paul Jackson, team boss of iSport, who Carroll with test for on Thursday said: "We approached Adam to test for us as we want as strong a package as we can get.

"Adam ticks all the boxes. He is a proven race winner, has plenty of experience, and if the commercial side comes together, then he is the ideal candidate."

Minardi Piquet Sports team boss Felipe Vargas is also a fan of the 24-year-old, who has won five races during his time in the series.

"I have always admired Adam's racing and thought 'here is someone I'd like to see at the wheel of one of our cars," said Vargas.

"I believe we will be able to put together a good sponsorship package for 2008, and in this case, Adam would be among the top of our wish list."
