Grosjean given time penalty
Romain Grosjean has lost his third place from the first Formula Three Euro Series race at Barcelona for having too many mechanics working on his car on the grid
The championship leader had one minute added to his time after the race, which drops him down to 17th place.
The start of the race was delayed by 10 minutes as a downpour hit the circuit moments before it was scheduled to get underway, and all of the teams were forced to switch to wet tyres and adjust their cars for the conditions.
F3 Euro Series rules state that only one mechanic can work on the car once the three-minute signal has been given, and they judged that Grosjean had four mechanics working on his car at that time.
His ASM team believe that only one mechanic was actually working on the car, as the others were simply handing him tools, so they have decided to appeal the decision.
If the appeal is not successful, it means that Harald Schlegelmilch will be promoted to eighth position in the results, and he will start from pole for the second consecutive reverse grid race.
