Buemi pleased with points haul
F3 Euro Series championship leader Sebastien Buemi has said that he was happy to settle for third place in the second race at Hockenheim last weekend
The Swiss driver had started from eighth on the grid due to his win in race one, and he believes that the points he scored for his podium finish on Sunday morning could be crucial in the title fight.
"Moving up from eighth on the grid to finish third is a good result," he said. "They are four important points in the fight for the title."
Buemi had dominated the first race of the weekend, and he decided against battling too hard with Yelmer Buurman in the closing laps of race two.
Buurman had been in the lead for much of the race, and he only dropped back to second after a fierce battle with Romain Grosjean, where the pair touched several times.
"I tried to overtake Yelmer, but I didn't want to take too many risks just for one extra point," said Buemi. "Third was good enough for me."
The Mucke Motorsport driver leads Grosjean by five points in the championship after the first round of the season.
