Asmer wants to race in Bucharest
British Formula Three championship leader Marko Asmer is trying to change his plans to enable him to race at the next round of the season in Romania
The Estonian moved into a commanding position in the championship with two wins last weekend at Donington, but he is currently scheduled to be racing in the Japanese F3 championship when the British series races around the streets of Bucharest.
Asmer is competing in both championships full-time this year, although prior to the start of the season it was announced that his Japanese campaign would take priority.
"Honestly I don't know if I will be in Bucharest," Asmer told this week's Autosport. "Obviously I would like to."
Asmer's team Hitech Racing are trying to line up a replacement driver for the event, although there is a possibility that they could run three cars if the 22-year-old is able to compete.
If Asmer were to still take the title without attending every race, it would be similar to 2005, when Alvaro Parente missed the first and last rounds of the season, but still comfortably wrapped up the title with Carlin Motorsport.
