Buemi expects ASM appeal to fail
F3 Euro Series title contender Sebastien Buemi believes that ASM will lost their appeal against Romain Grosjean's one-minute penalty from last weekend
Grosjean had one minute added to his race time after Saturday's event at Barcelona, as the stewards judged that he had more than one mechanic working on the car after the three-minute signal was given on the grid.
His ASM team have appealed the decision, although they will not find out the result of the appeal before this weekend's penultimate round of the series at Nogaro.
"Normally an appeal has no chance," Buemi told autosport.com. "I know they did it wrong, so I don't really care that they appealed."
Buemi is currently only five points behind Grosjean in the championship, although the Frenchman would gain another six points if the appeal is successful.
However, Buemi believes that ASM made an error by not appealing the same penalty that was given to Kamui Kobayashi, who finished further down the order.
"They did a really big mistake by not appealing for Kobayashi," he added. "It's the same penalty, how can they accept it for one car but not the other?
"I hope they lose the appeal. If I'm five points behind him everything is open for the next race."
