Weekend review and results round-up

Red Bull took the constructors' championship thanks to Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber's one-two in Brazil - but the result and events earlier in the weekend left its drivers' championship position looking complicated, as its strict 'no team orders' policy left Webber eight points rather than one point behind Fernando Alonso heading for Abu Dhabi, where Vettel and long-shot Lewis Hamilton will also still have a chance

Webber's pre-race declaration that Vettel was his team's 'favourite' could come to haunt Red Bull if it manages to let Alonso slip away with the title next weekend, when the atmosphere inside the team is sure to be a very hot topic.

Jenson Button dropped out of title contention in Brazil, and also made headlines around the world when his car was approached by an armed gang as he left the circuit on Saturday night. Button praised his driver's quick reaction after making a safe escape.

The continuing Lotus/Renault/Lotus drama was another big story of the weekend, with Lotus Racing's engine supply deal with Renault finally being announced just as it seemed likely that Lotus Cars might team up with the Renault works squad in 2011, while Tony Fernandes' squad looks more likely to be choosing a new name.

The saga of Nico Hulkenberg's future also looks different after Brazil, with his stunning pole giving Williams plenty to think about.

Away from Formula 1, the NASCAR title race took a huge twist in a dramatic Texas race. Denny Hamlin's win gives him the points lead with just two races to go.

Peugeot clinched the inaugural Intercontinental Le Mans Cup by winning in China, but not without controversy - as it appeared to use the delayed Sebastien Bourdais to hold back the chasing Audi and ensure Stephane Sarrazin and Franck Montagny won.

Casey Stoner and Valentino Rossi were keen to say goodbye to Ducati and Yamaha respectively by winning the MotoGP finale at Valencia, but world champion Jorge Lorenzo denied them in an exciting race.
