Webber Urges Jaguar to Improve Reliability

Mark Webber was upset after his Jaguar car suffered problems at the start of Sunday's San Marino Grand Prix â€" and called for his team to get things right for the next race in Spain.

"It's happened too often, it's not funny and it needs fixing," said Webber. "I am very disappointed about it because we should have got a point here and not been stuck like that. We just need to iron out the problems and we will be up there. We've got three days testing coming up now and we've got to look into this and do it properly and get it right."

Australian Webber, who qualified an impressive third in Brazil and then fifth at Imola, dropped to 11th on the first lap after a problem with his clutch forced him to change the bite point as he sat on the grid. Webber's best time at Imola was three seconds faster than his predecessor Ulsterman Eddie Irvine managed in the troublesome R3 machine last year.

The Jaguar team have undergone major changes this year with a new design team, a new management structure and a new wind tunnel which has allowed them to develop the car at a much better rate than ever before.

Webber, who joined the team from Minardi at the end of last year, added: "We have a car that has potential and we know we are going in the right direction. That's good for us. We are a full three seconds faster here at Imola this year than Eddie was last year and that tells you all you need to know. This place is the acid test for the car and the team.

"We've fallen down on stupid things really, but the car and package is good and it's got potential. Underlying it all, though, I know everyone is working well, pulling together and doing their jobs. They work so bloody hard the boys and they were in until 2.30 in the morning on Friday so it is going to come right. It's up to us. Just watch. You'll see a party here shortly."
