We were Too Slow, Says Sauber

Team boss Peter Sauber said the Swiss squad were too slow in today's qualifying session for the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Team boss Peter Sauber said the Swiss squad were too slow in today's qualifying session for the Brazilian Grand Prix.

"We know that we are a bit too slow here and we will work hard on that for the future," said Sauber after qualifying. "We are confident that Bridgestone will do the same."

German Nick Heidfeld completed his worst qualifying performance of the year so far when he posted the 12th quickest time, wile teammate Heinz-Harald Frentzen finished down in 14th. Both men, however, were happy with their cars and are in a good position to score points tomorrow.

"The car was fine," said Heidfeld. "I think I lost out a little bit because I had to run so early in the session, but compared to the rest of the weekend I was quite happy with the way the C22 performed today."

Heidfeld had scored his first points of the year in Malaysia two weeks ago when he finished eighth, while Frentzen had finished in the points in the season-opening race in Australia.
