Trulli Happy with Productive Day

Italian Renault driver Jarno Trulli was pleased with the start of his European Grand Prix after posting the seventh quickest time in Friday's practice.

Italian Renault driver Jarno Trulli was pleased with the start of his European Grand Prix after posting the seventh quickest time in Friday's practice.

"Today wasn't too bad for me," said Trulli at the end of the session. "We concentrated on set-ups for Sunday and tyre choice, but we still have some work to do in order to balance the car properly. Overall, I'm happy with a productive opening day."

The Renault driver, who has scored points for the French squad in the last two races in Monaco and Canada, outpaced his teammate Jenson Button, who finished right behind Trulli in eighth place.

Button admitted there was still work to do, but was satisfied with the progress made with the Michelin-shod R102, which is including a new traction control system for this weekend's Grand Prix.

"The car is OK at the moment," admitted Button. "We didn't start off with a great set-up, and had to work hard to improve it. There's still a bit to go, especially for one flying lap, but overall, it's a good start to the weekend, except for England's defeat in the World Cup this morning."
