Italian Jarno Trulli finished fastest in Friday morning private testing at the Nurbrugring as Jaguar and Renault led the times ahead of this weekend's European Grand Prix.
Trulli, who spun 18 minutes into the session, set a time of 1:32.085 in the dying minutes of the session to finish 0.226 seconds ahead of teammate Fernando Alonso, who had upped the pace in the closing minutes.
The Jaguar drivers had led the way for most of the session, but Antonio Pizzonia eventually finished a distant third, 0.880 seconds behind Trulli, despite pushing for a time in the closing minutes.
Australian Mark Webber, whose best finishes for Jaguar this year have been three seventh places in Spain, Austria and Canada, was fifth fastest, with the Jaguars split in the timesheets by the Jordan of Briton Ralph Firman.
The third Renault of Scot Allan McNish, who will make way for Franck Montagny for the testing session in France next weekend, finished 1.850 seconds off the pace after stopping out on track half way through the two-hour session.
Italian Giancarlo Fisichella, in the second Jordan, finished seventh some 1.5 seconds slower than teammate Firman but still 0.3 seconds ahead of Jos Vertappen and almost one second ahead of Justin Wilson in the two Minardis.
