Sutil only taking positives from Monaco

Adrian Sutil says he is only taking positives from his performance at the Monaco Grand Prix, despite the race ending in heartbreak for him

"I think it was a great race for me, even with this accident in the end," Sutil said in Montreal on Thursday.

"We could take this opportunity to show a little bit of good performance.

"We took this chance and I'm happy with it. For the team everything went really well, good strategy and good race pace. I take good and positive things from this race."

The German driver took advantage of the weather conditions to move from 18th on the grid to fourth position with just a few laps remaining.

His race, however, ended when Kimi Raikkonen lost control of his Ferrari and crashed into the back of the Force India.

Despite his showing in Monte Carlo, Sutil is under no illusions for this weekend's race in Canada, but thinks the team should still keep on working hard to try to close the gap to their rivals.

"At the moment (the development) is not fast enough but we try our best to develop and have a few new parts for this race, but not a huge update," he said.

"It will be a difficult race for us to improve our performance. We have to give our best, think positive, keep the motivation is there and keep on working."
