Schumacher: I Won't Win All 18 Races
Michael Schumacher has given hope to his rivals by saying a suggestion he might win all 18 races this season was not serious.
Michael Schumacher has given hope to his rivals by saying a suggestion he might win all 18 races this season was not serious.
"I don't want to have anything to do with such speculation, not only because it's too early, but also because I believe it's totally unrealistic," the six times World Champion told his German website.
The Ferrari driver chalked his fourth win in a row at Imola on Sunday and needs one more victory to equal Briton Nigel Mansell's record best season start with five consecutive wins in 1992.
"We're talking about Formula One," Schumacher said. "All the teams work extremely hard and improve constantly. In the next race already things could be very different. If we hadn't known that for years, we would not have been so successful."
Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn said before the San Marino Grand Prix that winning all races was the target.
"It's our ambition to win every race if we can," said Brawn, who admitted it would be tough and named Hockenheim and Hungary as two races where Ferrari might have problems.
