Fisichella in Action at Fiorano

The Sauber team began today a three-day test at Ferrari's Fiorano circuit, where Italian Giancarlo Fisichella worked alone.

Fisichella drove the Swiss squad's C23 car, covering a massive 165 laps at the Italian circuit, with a best time of 57.613. His Brazilian teammate Felipe Massa, who today tested for Ferrari at Mugello, will take over the driving on Thursday.

"Our overall target this week is the preparation for the Monaco race in May," said race engineer Giampaolo Dall'Ara. "Today in the morning we worked on finding a good car balance and assessed several aerodynamic parts resulting from our wind tunnel investigations.

"Some of the new components we could test already in Imola last weekend, but there are several new parts which we will examine this week in Fiorano. Later we worked on Bridgestone tyre constructions and also evaluated brakes with the focus on the long-term.

"Overall this was quite a good day for us. We did a lot of work and were able to complete our programme for today."
