Schumacher Dedicates Win to Umberto Agnelli

Ferrari's Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello left the champagne unsprayed after winning Sunday's European Grand Prix as a mark of respect to late Fiat chairman Umberto Agnelli.

Ferrari's Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello left the champagne unsprayed after winning Sunday's European Grand Prix as a mark of respect to late Fiat chairman Umberto Agnelli.

"We like to dedicate this success to him personally as he was a great supporter of Ferrari through all the years," Schumacher said after leading the team to their fourth one-two of the year.

"It was a shock to all of us to hear the message, so I hope you understand that the celebrations and the excitement is obviously reduced," added the six-times World Champion.

Agnelli, head of Ferrari's parent company, died in Turin on Thursday night. He was 69.

The German punched the air in delight as he crossed the finish line for the 76th victory of his career, and sixth in seven races this year. However, he did not perform his usual leap from the top step of the podium.

Briton Jenson Button, third for BAR, broke ranks with the Ferrari duo by spraying his bottle of champagne at team mechanics below the podium.
