Schumacher, Alonso Escape FIA Sanction

World Champion Michael Schumacher and Spaniard Fernando Alonso received a rap on the knuckles by the FIA over their driving in the Brazilian Grand Prix but will not receive any further punishment.

An FIA spokesman said that each driver had meetings with FIA race director Charlie Whiting on Friday before the overall drivers' briefing.

Schumacher crashed out of the Brazilian race when double yellow flags were waved, while Alonso's spectacular crash brought the race to a premature end and forced him to be admitted to hospital overnight.

The pair were warned over their future driving, while Whiting spelled out the dangers to all drivers, but no further action is expected to be taken against the pair.

"Charlie had a meeting with them both separately and also mentioned it in the main briefing and that will be the end of it," said an FIA spokesman.

Alonso, who insisted he was not worried by a potential investigation into his driving, said the meeting with Whiting has been positive but said no warnings or sanctions had been put in place.

"It was good," Alonso told Atlas F1. "We had a chat, that's all, there was nothing more to it. Obviously they said that I have to be careful with these type of things and nothing more. It is something that we all knew before and I knew before."
