Racing review: All the results
AUTOSPORT brings you the definitive who won what, and where, round-up from throughout the racing world last weekend
The first races of the revived Formula 2 Championship were the most intriguing prospect of a terrifically busy weekend of international motor racing, and it was Robert Wickens who had it all his own way as the new-look series kicked off at Valencia.
F2 shared the bill with an unusually politics-free World Touring Car round, but the biggest story from saloon racing was former champion Gary Paffett's return to the top in the DTM at Lausitz.
The reigning champions showed their class in America, as Jimmie Johnson dominated the Dover NASCAR Sprint Cup race and Scott Dixon grabbed Milwaukee IndyCar victory, but in MotoGP a king was deposed, with Valentino Rossi's seven-year streak of Mugello wins coming to an end as Casey Stoner and Jorge Lorenzo pushed the Italian legend back to third on home ground.
