Praise for Wirdheim after Jordan test

Jordan's engineering guru Gary Anderson has praised Formula 3000 champion Bjorn Wirdheim's first efforts during a grand prix weekend with the team

Wirdheim had previously tested with the Silverstone-based team at Monza earlier in the year, and took part in the two-hour private test session at Indianapolis ahead of this weekend's US Grand Prix.

"Bjorn did a good job this morning," said Anderson. "He's building up his experience which is just what he needs at this stage."

Wirdheim, who completed 44 laps alongside race drivers Giancarlo Fisichella and Ralph Firman, ended the session 11th fastest with a lap of 1m13.678s, which was less than a second slower than Firman's best time.

"After testing with Jordan-Ford in Monza earlier this month it was good to be back in the car," said Wirdheim. "I really like the circuit here at Indianapolis. We were doing some work preparing for the race and it was nice to work with Gary Anderson. It was not too bad and I hope I helped the team be better prepared for the weekend."
