Panis Discharged from Hospital

Toyota driver Olivier Panis was discharged from hospital today, stating he is feeling fine and suffers from no side effects to his big shunt at the Barcelona track yesterday.

"I am feeling pretty good after my crash yesterday," Panis said. "Basically, I was trying to go through turn three flat out, as I had already done in the morning, but as I tried to correct some oversteer, the rear went and that was it. I was taken to the hospital as a precaution and everything was absolutely fine.

"I am really sorry for the team but thank them for their support. I would also like to thank everyone at the circuit and the hospital for their efficient and professional work."

Panis, who returned to the Barcelona circuit today around lunch time but did not continue testing, also said he was pleased with the team's progress during the last week.

"I am very happy with this week's test," the Frenchman said. "The base we have with the TF104 is really good and we know what we need to achieve together to continue to improve the performance. If we keep working in this direction, I think we are going to be in good shape for Melbourne and I am looking forward to getting back in the car."
