My Time Will Come, Says Barrichello

Brazilian Rubens Barrichello believes it's only a matter of time before he starts winning races with the Ferrari team on a regular basis.

Brazilian Rubens Barrichello believes it's only a matter of time before he starts winning races with the Ferrari team on a regular basis.

The 29-year old driver, in the spotlight since the Austrian Grand Prix two weeks ago when he was forced to let teammate Michael Schumacher win the race after Ferrari decided to impose team orders, said that he is happy even if he has to obey orders from his team.

"I don't think the time has come (for me), I think it is coming," said Barrichello today. "What matters is what you have inside your mind. If I feel I am happy with the race and I am happy with that, I had to follow the orders and that is it. My time will definitely come if I still keep determined to come.

"It has happened, there is no way I can go back there and I am not going to gain anything by saying something bad about the team. I feel very comfortable inside the team, the car is great, it is the car that is going to give me a lot more wins, but only time will tell. But I think the time is coming."

Barrichello, currently in fourth place in the Championship with 12 points, will turn 30 on Thursday. The Brazilian has been very fast this year, claiming two pole positions and leading most of the races, with only mechanical problems stopping him from having a bigger points tally.

Despite the Ferrari F2002 proving to be the fastest car this year - with Michael Schumacher winning the last four races - Barrichello claims that it's a change in his attitude that has helped him move closer to the four-time World Champion.

"I think it's an attitude," he said. "I think my first pole position this year was is the old car and already I think that when they gave me the chance in the last four races of last year to be able to race and to be able to win and so on, I think I've changed the way I approach things.

"It's very difficult to race against Michael because he's already a very fast driver. So inside your mind you can put a lot of things, but you forget about yourself. It was two years of a lot of experience, a lot of going through things.

"Since the last four races of last year I've had a good time, a good time to think of myself and then the period of the vacation I had time to reorganise everything. And the new car is a very good car, but it looks like everything is down to the new car, but I think it's more to attitude."
