McNish Under No Illusions for the Race

Scot Allan McNish said that it will be hard to score his first Formula One World Championship point in his home race on Sunday after qualifying in a disappointing 15th place.
The Toyota driver, who made his Grand Prix debut at the start of this season, will have to start from the eighth row of the grid at Silverstone and admitted his hopes have been dashed.
"From here it is going to be hard," he said. "I am disappointed. We had a better car in qualifying than we had this morning and I know it's there in the sector times, it's there in the data. But it is fine knowing you can do it and knowing it is possible for you, and it is just a bit frustrating that it wasn't possible today."
McNish was once again outqualified by his teammate Mika Salo as the team put in their best qualifying performance of the season, and he admitted that the former Ferrari-driving Finn is a class above.
"In qualifying trim he has been very consistent," he said. "But you just keep your head down and you don't let it get to you. Things have gone pretty well with Mika this year, he was fortunate enough to get through the first corner in Australia and he got a point."
